2010 IS GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR!!

2010 is already off to a great start with the CORE Institute celebrating it's 20 year anniversary! So congrat's to both George and Patty Kousaleos for all the work, time and passion they put into the school!!

On the other hand, I can't quite believe that it is already 2010 and almost into February at that!! With each New Year comes new year’s resolutions! I'm hoping for those whom have set some new intentions for this year that you have been sticking with them and moving forward in reshaping new patterns and habits.

I wanted to share some one of my New year’s resolutions! Here we go;

Resolution 1 – Do a better job with newsletter! I love sharing all the knowledge that I have about transforming the body and mind. I am going to make 2010 the best year ever for my newsletter. My goal is to put out a new newsletter every 3 – 4 weeks and add a whole lot more content. I'm starting out this resolution with the new layout to the newsletter, as well as having the newsletters located on my website to make it easy to go back and read something that may have caught your interest.

On Line - scheduling reminder: Please remember you can easily schedule, reschedule, cancel appointments or be put on the waiting list online 24/7 up to a year out. This is a very user friendly system. To go ahead and schedule your next appointment click here.

As always I am very appreciative for those of you that spread the word of my practice and continue to refer new clients. Word of mouth is the backbone of what keeps my practice alive, so please know I am very thankful for those efforts!!

Article Of the Month

Transcend Your Body's Boundaries

The following paragrah is a quote from Leslie Kaminoff, author of Yoga Anatomy who reinforces the fact that even if you are engaged in a formal stretching program adding and maintaining bodywork as a component can make all the difference!! In case you have not read my article on Structural Integration & Yoga. click here to read

"Many yoga students come into the practice thinking that yoga is the perfect holistic system for addressing their aches and pains. Practice makes perfect, in other words—a Western notion that, in combination with an Eastern discipline, can yield some very unrealistic expectations for a pain-free, well-balanced, highly functioning body. We are very fond of perpetuating the myth that yoga is a complete system. We like to say that it's all you need, but that's simply not true," says yoga therapist Leslie Kaminoff, who is the author of Yoga Anatomy and founder of The Breathing Project, a yoga studio that's based in Manhattan. "It needs to be supplemented to maintain balance." One way to do this, Kaminoff believes, is with bodywork. "A bodyworker can reach areas of your body on a mechanical level that you yourself don't have leverage on," he says. "You will only ever have so much space between yourself and the floor. Generally, massage or myofascial work takes place on a table, which means the bodyworker can drop [your] limbs below the supporting surface." And that makes a really big difference, he says, in range of motion."

So for 2010 make sure you have a maintenance plan that works for your body, whether this be weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Myofascial therapy should be part of a lifelong plan to support and move your body and mind toward the quality of life that you are seeking.
